FAQs and LINK exchange:
Questions Every Bride and Groom should be asking about their Smoky Mountain wedding in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
1. Is there a dressing suite for the bride, and once she is dressed will she have to outside to enter the chapel?
Our wedding chapel provides a large bridal dressing suite next to the entry of the sanctuary. Once you are dressed, you will not have to walk outside around the building into the "weather" or take a chance of being seen by your guests before the wedding ceremony.
2. Is there room for me to have bridesmaids?
Yes. Our wedding chapel is thirty feet wide and can accommodate bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls and ring bearer...your entire wedding party with no problems. Our coordinators will work with your bridal party before the wedding ceremony starts to let everyone know exactly what to do and where to send.
3. Is there a lobby for my guests to wait in before the wedding ceremony?
Our Smoky Mountain chapel has a beautiful lobby with a fireplace, seating and music for your guests to gather before the ceremony. They will not have to wait in the parking lot or in their cars if it is raining.
4. How many wedding ceremonies do you schedule per hour? And will you guarantee that?
Some weddings include 2 or 3 hours of space (ask for details). Our bridal will not have to wait in the parking lot with their guests to hear their name announced.
5. Is your wedding chapel surrounded by nature or is it next to the highway? (How many feet from the highway are you?) And what buildings are next to you?
Since the wedding chapel borders the Smoky Mountains National Park, you are surrounded by trees and some fantastic wedding photo opportunities. There are no retail businesses or highways adjacent to the wedding chapel. As you pull into our driveway, you are immediately surrounded by the peace and tranquility you want for your mountain wedding. We are more than 300 feet from the highway.
6. If I am getting a bridal flower bouquet will it be made just for me?
At our chapel, bouquets are individually ordered for each wedding. Our coordinators will help you select the colors and style flowers for the entire wedding party. You will not be handed a standard bouquet as you start your walk down the aisle.
7. Do you have wedding receptions at your Gatlinburg chapel?
No, not at the chapel, an there is a good reason. The few chapels that offer on site receptions usually have receptions going on during your wedding and weddings going on during your reception all in the same building. Your guests will usually see several brides and lots of guests. Many times you are in a tiny room of the chapel or in the corner of an outside area and you may hear other guests and ceremonies going on during yours. We did not want all this confusion, nor do we want your guests to see another bride. For this reason, we highly recommend The Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg. The Park Vista is an elegant location for simple to sublime receptions and they are more than happy to help you with all the details.
8. Is there adequate free parking at your wedding chapel and is it close to the chapel and at the same level? Or will my guests have to walk up steep hills for parking?
There is never a fee for parking at our chapel. The parking provides easy access to the chapel.
9. What is your video and sound system composed of? Will I get a professional video or will it be recorded with one camera and a "boom-box?"
As one of the newest chapels in the Smokies, we also have the newest equipment. Our video technology utilizes four wall mounted video cameras with a videographer in a separate room actually creating your video during your ceremony. Our sound system is also state of the art.
10. What about my portraits? How many indoor and outdoor pictures will you actually take?
While most wedding chapels shoot exactly the number of wedding portraits that come with your package or a couple of extra, we overshoot your wedding. You will have portraits to choose from. Also, ask how many outdoor wedding portraits will be taken. Being surrounded by the national park allows us lots of outdoor portrait opportunities with our waterfall, gazebo, bell tower, and garden path.
11. Can you provide outdoor wedding ceremonies?
Yes, but not at the chapel. We can provide a small intimate Creekside Ceremony in the National Park for 10 guests or less. These services are provided at a creek near our Gatlinburg Wedding Center. This provides you the opportunity for a simple, cost effective, no frills wedding.
